New Album

Jenny and co are currently in the rehearsal studio, writing new material for the next Strike The Colours album. So far it's going really well, with the boys having more of an input at the very first stage of the process. This is shaping the sound, so although it's still Strike The Colours, the band are taking it up a notch this time: electric guitars, pedals, weird synths, shakers. They've all been spotted....

No live dates to announce just now, all efforts are going into writing, but the end of the summer/early autumn should see some live shows taking place in order to air some of this new material, so watch this space.

Another New Album

In the meantime, Jenny is about to be involved in the recording of an album with the likes of Emma Pollock, Rod Jones, Jill O' Sullivan (Sparrow And The Workshop) and James Graham (Twilight Sad) to name but a few. In January, assorted musicians, singers and songwriters all congregated in a beautiful old house somewhere in the wilds of Perthshire to collaborate on material, the culmination of which will be recorded next week. The record is to be released in October, and will see two live shows in Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts And Film Festival. (Release dates, live dates etc to follow.)

and Lip Service!

And in other news, two Strike The Colours songs are to be used in the sound-track for new BBC3 drama, Lip Service. For more info, go here. The two songs they are using will be Breathing Exercise and The Thing I Can't Explain, both from Seven Roads.

We'll have more soon!!
